The Finnish Game Developer of the Year 2014 is Seriously

Seriously Ltd was awarded as The Finnish Game Developer of the Year 2014 at DigiExpo in the Helsinki Expo and Convention Center. The award was given for the fifth time.
Seriously was founded 2013 by game industry veterans and despite of the company’s young age have not only secured significant funding but also released its first game Best Fiends which shot out to immediate success and got a whopping million downloads during the first six days. Seriously’s top notch team grew into success at companies such as Remedy, Digital Chocolate, Rovio and Recoil Games.
The jury stated the following:

“Seriously is not only an excellent game studio but also a fine example of second-round start-up boom which is also an indication of the maturity of the Finnish game industry. Its early stage funding, international relations, an expert team of professionals and quickly released first game are typical characteristics of these second-round start-ups. Game development and succeeding at the game markets is never easy but as the industry grows older and developers gain experience, we can expect more start-ups with strong professional base such as Seriously that have a great chance to succeed.”

The Finnish Game Developer of the Year 2014 award was given at DigiExpo fair in the Helsinki Expo and Convention Center during the professional day on October 31st. The value of the award handed by Suomen Messusäätiö is 3000 euros. The winner was elected by a jury that was comprised of members of Neogames Finland ry and FIGMA ry.
